Data Protection 

The following policy applies to the extent you share your personal data with us. For this purpose, personal data means identifiable information about you, like your name, email, address, telephone number, bank account details, occupation details and financial information. 

Our principles of data protection

We only store personal data that is relevant or which is otherwise incidental to our interaction with you. We only process it:

  1. to the extent incidental to our interactions with you; or

  2. where we have legitimate interests to process the personal data and they are not overridden by your rights; or

  3. in accordance with a legal obligation or regulatory requirement; or

  4. where we have your consent.

How we collect your personal data

We only collect personal data about you:

  1. from you directly – if you decide to sign up to our newsletter or to subscribe to our update service and from our interactions over email and/or the telephone, in person or in writing as a result of our mutual interactions arising therefrom; and 

  2. from third parties such as advisers or agents working on your behalf when and if applicable. 

How we store your personal data

Your contact details are held in our contact databases. Other sensitive financial information (eg bank details and financial interests) are not stored in any database by us but may be held within documents/emails stored in respect of our interactions with you. 

Sharing your personal data with third parties

We will keep your personal data private and not share your details with third parties except:

  1. for incidental disclosure to others in the conduct of interaction with you; and

  2. when it is in our legitimate interest, for example for our own internal administrative purposes or to comply with regulatory requirements; and

  3. where we are required by law, for example preventing fraud, complying with anti-money laundering or anti-terrorism regulations.

We will not use your personal data to send you marketing material save to the extent you have consented thereto. 

Retention of personal data

Any personal information that we hold about you will only be stored for so long as we have a working relationship and for a period of time afterwards where we have an ongoing business need to retain it, in accordance with our data retention policies or as required by law or any relevant regulation.

International Data Transfers

No personal information will be sent outside of the European Economic Area unless it is to follow your instructions (including all relevant incidental transfers owing to the nature and scope of matters dealt for you) or to comply with a legal duty. 

Your rights

You have the right to:

  1. request copies of the information we hold on you for no charge at any time by writing to us at info@hatchery.works; and 

  2. question any information we have about you that you think is wrong or incomplete (and we will take all reasonable steps to check its accuracy and correct it where required); and

  3. ask us to delete, remove or stop using your personal information if there is no need for us to keep it (and we will comply with such request unless there is a legal or other official reason why we need to keep or use your data in which case we will advise you of our reasoning in writing within 30 days of your written request); and 

  4. raise a complaint directly with the UK Information Office via the details available on their website: www.ico.org.uk if you are not satisfied with the way we have handled your requests.
